ESSENTIAL BRONCHOSCOPY MODULE:
This module was developed in conjunction with and endorsed by the AABIP
This module includes Skill acquiring tasks and Endobronchial navigation aimed at: Cognitive and Motor skills enhancement, Anatomical Knowledge enhancement, Safe and efficient diagnostic manoeuvre performance.
Each designated skills task is focused at a required bronchoscopic skill, covering the complete essential bronchoscopic skills range.
DIAGNOSTIC BRONCHOSCOPY MODULE:
This module includes different patient scenarios each constitutes an entire clinical environment in which the user can perform endobronchial and transbronchial tissue sampling using biopsy forceps, cytology brush, aspiration needle and BAL.
All cases incorporate a complete patient management environment with moderate sedation, altering consciousness, vital signs monitoring, hemodynamic complications and more.
This clinical environment offers multiple educational aids to optimize the learning process, or it can be restricted to data available during a real procedure.
All of the above are simulated in a reactive manner, enhancing the bronchoscopic simulation to the full spectrum of the actual procedure.
EMERGENCY BRONCHOSCOPY MODULE (WIP):
This module includes bronchoscopic procedures performed for diagnosis and treatment of emergency and ICU situations.
It offers clinical cases such as Haemoptysis, Therapeutic aspiration and Foreign object retrieval in adults and paediatrics. The trainee has to assess the situation, decide upon treatment and perform.
All cases incorporate a complete patient management environment and optional educational aids as described in Diagnostic Bronchoscopy
ESSENTIAL EBUS MODULE :
The Essential EBUS module incorporates designated tasks, clinical cases and educational materials.
The tasks are aimed at learning and practicing ultrasound image interpretation, relevant structures and LN stations identification (according to the IASLC 2009 map) and correct workflow of EBUS-TBNA performance.
The clinical cases featuring a comprehensive patient environment, offering the choice of general anaesthetized patient. Diverse virtual patients, each featuring his CT scan, calls for user to take clinical decisions and perform EBUS-TBNA for various lymph node stations.
This module features both curved linear and radial endobronchial ultrasound.
