Neoventa announce Nanomaterial sensors -
measure lactate in fetus during labour
Swedish researchers have discovered a new method to manufacture nanomaterial sensors which make it possible to measure different components of body liquids. Nanexa, the company which owns the technology, has signed an exclusive agreement with Neoventa Medical, manufacturers of STAN, to develop this technology.
Nanexa and Neoventa are working on developing a sensor to be attached to electrodes which will continually measure lactate during labour and delivery. As an indicator of oxygen depletion in the fetus, lactate is extremely useful in predicting labour outcome.
