SIMBIONIX U/S MENTOR:

The Simbionix U/S Mentor is a multidisciplinary simulator that will offer hands-on training for diverse ultrasound examinations and interventions, as performed by a rapidly growing number of medical specialties.

The U/S Mentor features a highly realistic simulation within a comprehensive educational environment, supporting independent or instructed hands on training.

The simulation environment combines high level of realism with advanced educational aids, featuring:

• A reliable ultrasound display of anatomy per probe position, incorporating common ultrasound imaging attributes and artefacts.
• Realistic setup with palpable mannequin and true to life anatomies physiology and pathologies.
• Incorporated image enhancement tools, measurement tools, color Doppler, cine-loops recording and clinical findings reporting support training to the full extent of the actual procedure.
• Various educational aids such as anatomy labels, corresponding external visualization, standard views helpers and more are available to accelerate the learning curve and support independent training.
• Didactic materials enhancing procedural and clinical understanding.
• Unique training modes such as Instructional Mode and Procedure Restricted Mode (no helpers available) complement the Normal training mode.
• Captured performance objectives provide self assessment opportunity, as well as competency level monitoring by an instructor.

U/S MENTOR MODULES:

SONOGRAPHY BASIC SKILLS MODULE:

A unique module designed to develop sonography psychomotor skills and ultrasound image sensibilities. Tasks aimed at hand-eye coordination skill enhancement and ultrasound image control through informed "knobology", help learners master essential sonography skills, laying a mandatory base for various ultrasound examinations and techniques.

BEDSIDE ECHOGRAPHY MODULE:

The Bedside Echocardiography Module incorporates 10 hands-on tasks and clinical cases, accompanied by comprehensive didactics.

The simulation environment combines high level of realism with advanced educational aids, featuring:

• Step by step dedicated Bedside Echocardiography tasks promoting self learning of the complete protocol as well as anatomy structures recognition.
• Featuring basic standard views complemented by more challenging views such as suprasternal, IVC, apical 2 chambers, apical 3 chambers and more.
• Diverse virtual patient cases taking after real patients, ranging from normal, through slightly abnormal to distinct pathologies.
• Incorporated ECG, Cine loops recordings, calliper measurements and more.
• The clinical cases present scenarios and complaints such as chest pain, mild to severe dyspnea, diverse arrhythmia, diaphoresis, weakness and more.
• With findings such as: normal heart, mitral regurgitation, aortic dissection, pericardial effusion, pulmonary embolism (PE), dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), Myocardial infarction (MI), tamponade  and more.

eFAST Module (extended Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma):

The eFAST Module incorporates 10 hands-on tasks and cases, accompanied by comprehensive didactics.

The simulation environment combines high level of realism with advanced educational aids, featuring:

• Step by step dedicated eFAST tasks promote in-depth practice of this protocol.
• The clinical cases feature a complete, dynamic anatomical environment.
• Case severity customisation - providing the opportunity to train on multiple scenarios using each single case.
• Training scenarios featuring both adults and paediatric Virtual Patient cases.
• Simulation of the complete FAST protocol, inspecting:

- The Right Upper Quadrant View (RUQ)

- The Left Upper Quadrant View (LUQ)

- The Pelvic View (Suprapubic)

- The Pericardial View (Subxiphoid)

• Some of the cases may also include additional findings in views such as:

- The Right and Left Pericolic Gutter Views

- The Pleural Space Right and Left Views

- The Anterior Pleural Space View

- The Parasternal View

- The Apical View

• The clinical cases will present typical ER or ICU scenarios such as: Blunt abdominal trauma, Chest trauma, Penetrating chest wound, Blast injury, Hemodynamically unstable patients and more.
• With findings such as: Free abdominal fluid, Hemoperitoneum, Hemothorax, Pneumothorax, Pelvic fluid, Pericardial effusion and more.

ABDOMINAL MODULE :

The Abdominal Module, featuring 8 cases, will offer a comprehensive training environment incorporating diverse anatomies and pathologies.

The simulation environment combines high level of realism with advanced educational aids, featuring:

• The clinical cases feature a complete, dynamic anatomical environment.
• Case severity customisation - providing the opportunity to train on multiple scenarios using each single case.  
• Training scenarios featuring both adults and paediatric Virtual Patient cases.
• The clinical cases will present scenarios such as: abdominal pain, abdominal distension, abnormal test results, abnormal liver function and more.
• With findings such as Abdominal aortic aneurism, Abdominal aortic dissection / rupture, Fatty liver, Liver mass, Renal abnormalities, Gallbladder abnormalities and more.

TOE / TEE MODULE (TransOesophageal Echocardiography):

The TEE, Transoesophageal Echocardiography, Module incorporates 10 hands-on tasks and cases, accompanied by comprehensive didactics. Procedural tasks promote obtaining the required knowledge and skills for TEE performance in a focused, undisturbed manner.

The simulation environment combines high level of realism with advanced educational aids, featuring:

• True-to-life probe manoeuvring demonstrating the different views, with realistic anatomies physiology and pathologies.
• Step by step dedicated TEE tasks promote acquiring the skills and knowledge to efficiently demonstrate the desired views and recognize the relevant anatomical structures.
• Incorporated ECG, Cine loops recordings, advanced Doppler modes, measurements and quantification.
• The clinical cases will present scenarios of congenital heart defects (CHD) alongside varied acquired disorders.
• With findings such as Septal defects, Aortic dissection, Valvular abnormalities, Left atrial thrombus and more.

Physicians and Sonographers have the opportunity to practice varied common scenarios of routine or emergency Transvaginal Sonography.

True-to-life anatomies and pathologies include normal anatomical variations, early IUP, ectopic pregnancy, fibroids, ovarian malignancies, hydrosalpynx and more.

Step-by-step procedural tasks offer self learning of the standard positions to be demonstrated in TVS protocols.
